A PROFILE OF ST SAVIOUR'S

St Saviour’s is a small, friendly Church of England Primary school in Herne Hill, Lambeth, bordered by Brixton, Dulwich and Camberwell. The school is next door to Ruskin Park and just five minutes walk from Loughborough Junction station. The older part of the building, the Junior block, dates from 1869 and the Infants block was built in the 1960s. We built an extension on the back of the older block to create more space and an art and technology area. The building of our school hall was completed in June 2004. We enlarged the Infant Block in 2011, transforming the size of all three classrooms and creating new toilet areas and a conference room. Following consultation with the school community, we transformed the Premises Officer’s house to enhance our curriculum provision. The school serves an area, which is culturally and socially rich and diverse. The school is well supported by the parents, carers and the local community, especially St Saviour’s Church and St Paul’s Church, in the parish of Herne Hill.
