A great day was had by all on Tuesday on our trip to the Florence Nightingale Museum! The weather held out for us as we made our way up to St Thomas' Hospital where we sat looking out across the river at the Houses of Parliament and had our lunch, followed by a game of Duck Duck Goose! We then made our way to the museum where we were greeted by Florence Nightingale herself! We all gathered round as Florence told us all about her life and quizzed the children on what they already knew. It wasn't long before they told her all about the rats (and their droppings) that were in the hospital when Florence arrived! After that we divided into groups and completed activities within the museum, finding out all about hospital life in the Victorian times and the changes Florence and her team made. At the end of the session Florence had Eve and Giacomo dressed up as a nurse and a soldier, and said they looked very smart indeed! We then made our way back to school on the bus, where we played my favourite game 'Who can fall asleep the quickest'! After such a busy day some of the children really did fall asleep!
