In English this half term, we are using the text, The Tadpoles Promise to stimulate and engage the children in their speaking, listening and writing.

This half term, we will have written a creative story, an explanation and other smaller texts such as posters and life cycles.

The children will:

Identify different parts of speech

Identify and use adjectives in their writing

Identify verbs and using them in our writing

Identify imperative verbs (bossy verbs) and using these to make commands

To use conjunctions: and, but,

To say our sentences out loud first before writing

How to sequence short sentences to make a narrative

How to re-read what we have written to check it makes sense
