A Welcome from Our Head Teacher

Thank you for visiting the St Saviour’s website. I hope that, as you look around, you get a real sense of what makes our school such a special place.

It is a real privilege to be the Head Teacher of St Saviour’s. We are a school built on high expectations, nurture and genuine care. Our children are curious, friendly and enthusiastic and our staff are dedicated and committed. There is a wonderful sense of community that runs throughout the school, bringing together our pupils, staff, families, governors and the wider community.

For me, education is about giving every child the opportunity to flourish. We have high standards and high expectations, and we want our children to enjoy a rich and ambitious curriculum that inspires them to learn, encourages them to ask questions and helps them to make sense of the world around them.  

Our curriculum is designed to give children both the knowledge and the skills they need to thrive. We want learning to be meaningful, engaging and memorable, with opportunities for children to explore their interests, develop their talents and make connections between different areas of learning. We value creativity, curiosity and a love of learning, and we want our children to leave us with not only a strong foundation of knowledge, but also the confidence and independence to keep learning throughout their lives.

We believe that children learn best when they feel safe, happy and valued. That is why nurture and care are at the heart of our school. We want every child to feel that they belong here, that they are known and cared for, and that they can be themselves.

Our school values are rooted in the Fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. These are not simply words on a page, they are values that we strive to live by every day in our classrooms, in the playground and in the way we treat one another as a school community.

Every child is unique, and we want them to be proud of who they are,  feel confident in their own abilities and always willing to have a go, even when something feels difficult. We encourage our children to see mistakes as part of learning and to approach new challenges with confidence and resilience.
