RE

In Year 6, this half term we will focus on the question:

How has the Christian message survived?

How we implement our RE curriculum:

We follow the Diocesan Syllabus for Religious Education in the Diocese of Southwark (SDBE).

We teach two thirds Christianity and one third other principle world faith (Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and Sikhism). This equates to four half terms of the school year for Christianity and two half terms of one of the principle world faiths.

Using the SDBE Syllabus, the teaching and learning approach has three disciplinary lenses, or ‘ways of knowing’ (believing, thinking, living), which are woven together as golden threads to provide breadth and balance within teaching and learning about religions and beliefs, underpinning the aims of RE. ‘Believing’ relates to theological approaches, thinking relates to more philosophical approaches and living relates to sociological approaches.

Open morning for Reception intake September 2025 is on Monday 25th November. Other dates and times can be booked to suit your needs and we are welcoming in year transfers. Please book by emailing : admin@st-saviours.lambeth.sch.uk
