Universal Free School Meals for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2

The government have announced plans to enable every child in reception, year 1 and year 2 in state-funded schools to receive a free school lunch.  For more information on how this will work please visit the gov.uk website

Universal Free School Meals for children in Years 3-6

The London Mayor has announced that he will fund free school meals for all KS2 children in community schools for 1 year as an emergency cost of living support measure.  Therefore, children in KS2 will not have to pay for school dinners for the Academic year 2023-2024.

Free School Meals Pupil Premium (a separate for needs to be completed)

Your child is entitled to free lunches if you are receiving:

• Income Support
• Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• Child Tax Credit (but not receiving Working Tax Credit), and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190, as assessed by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.
• Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit  Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
• Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
