Key Learning Question: How do animals survive?
Scientific Enquiry Focus: Identify and classifying items
In this unit we will learn about different animals, including humans. We will learn about the life cycle of different animals and comparing different animals from offspring to adult. Children will also learn about what animals including humans need to survive and about what keeps them healthy.
By the end of the topic pupils should be able to:
- notice that animals, including humans, have offspring which grow into adults
- find out about and describe the basic needs of animals, including humans, for survival (water, food and air)
- describe the importance for humans of exercise, eating the right amounts of different types of food, and hygiene.
