We have a specalist Music Teacher: Miss Atkinson who teaches all classes on a rota so that all year groups recieve specalist teaching for at least three half-terms a year. Wherever possible we link the class music lessons to the learning in the class. We make use of the wonderful opportunities in London to experience live music through:
- Brightsparks Concerts at the Royal Festival Hall
- LSO Discovery Concerts at the Barbican
- Lambeth Music Festival at the Royal Festival Hall. Year 2 and Year 4 take part in this opportunity.
If children are attending one of the concerts above then we base the term's Music lessons around the concert and make use of the materials that are provided by the organisers of the concerts. Teachers attend the INSET sessions provided to help them prepare the children for these experiences.
